Client: Stratstone Landrover
The client Stratstone Landrover have an Off-Road Driving Centre which has a water filled concrete bowl for deep wading. This had become inhabited by newts which needed to be identified in case they were Great Crested Newts which are afforded the highest levels of protecteion under both UK and European Laws. Several days were spent surveying the pond by netting and evenings were spent surveying by torchlight, both being recognised methods for detecting the presence of newt species.
EcoSurv are experienced at carrying out this sort of survey and our Licensed herpetologists were able to advise on the best course of action in order that the centre could remain in operation. Ecosurv can also carry out future monitoring of such sites to confirm the presence or absence of protected species.
If you need to have any survey carried out on any type of watercourse then please contact us and let us advise you accordingly.
